Rollup Vulnerabilities

Architecture

Rollup vulnerabilities refer to systemic flaws inherent in the design of Layer 2 scaling solutions, primarily involving the discrepancy between off-chain execution and on-chain settlement. These weaknesses often manifest in the data availability layer, where insufficient posting of transaction inputs allows sequencers to withhold information required for state reconstruction. Sophisticated actors exploit these gaps to censor transactions or force an invalid state transition that the Ethereum mainnet may fail to detect without active, high-cost fraud proofs.
