Order Submission Off-Chain

Offchain

Order submission off-chain refers to the process where order placement and initial validation occur outside of the primary blockchain network, typically within a centralized or federated system. This approach contrasts with on-chain order submission, where every step is recorded directly on the blockchain. The primary motivation involves mitigating latency and scaling limitations inherent in blockchain environments, particularly crucial for high-frequency trading and complex derivative instruments. Subsequently, these off-chain orders are batched and periodically settled or confirmed on the main chain, leveraging techniques like state channels or rollups to ensure eventual finality and immutability.
