Off-Chain Identity

Concept

Off-Chain Identity refers to the verifiable attributes and credentials of an individual or entity that exist outside of a blockchain’s immutable ledger. This concept acknowledges that not all identity information needs to be, or should be, stored directly on-chain for privacy and scalability reasons. It encompasses traditional identity documents, biometric data, or verified attestations issued by trusted third parties. The goal is to link real-world identities to on-chain activity without exposing sensitive data publicly. It bridges the gap between digital and physical identities.
