Time Locked Tokens

Token

Time Locked Tokens (TLTs) represent a cryptographic mechanism that restricts the transferability of a digital asset for a predetermined duration. This constraint is enforced through smart contract logic, preventing the token holder from selling, transferring, or otherwise disposing of the asset until a specific unlock time or condition is met. The core utility lies in facilitating deferred vesting schedules, incentivizing long-term holding, and enabling novel financial instruments within decentralized finance (DeFi). TLTs are increasingly utilized in options trading and derivatives to manage counterparty risk and create structured products.
