Off Chain Redemption

Mechanism

Off chain redemption denotes the process by which a derivative contract or tokenized asset is settled, exercised, or converted into its underlying value without requiring an immediate, concurrent broadcast to the primary blockchain ledger. This procedural abstraction allows market participants to bypass inherent network latency and high gas costs by performing the settlement logic within a secondary layer or private database environment. Finality is achieved through state updates in the off-chain system, deferring the resource-intensive layer-one transaction until a later aggregation or specific request by the holder.
