Decentralized Oracle Problem

Oracle

The Decentralized Oracle Problem arises from the inherent challenge of securely and reliably transferring off-chain data – real-world information like asset prices, weather conditions, or election results – onto a blockchain. Blockchains, by design, operate in a deterministic environment, lacking native access to external data sources. Consequently, decentralized oracle networks are constructed to bridge this gap, but their design introduces vulnerabilities that can compromise the integrity of smart contracts and associated financial instruments, particularly within cryptocurrency derivatives markets.
