Cross-Protocol Risk Propagation

Interoperability

Cross-protocol risk propagation describes the phenomenon where a failure or vulnerability in one decentralized finance protocol triggers cascading failures across other interconnected protocols. This systemic risk arises from the composability of DeFi, where protocols frequently rely on each other’s tokens, liquidity pools, or oracle data to function. A single point of failure, such as a smart contract exploit or oracle manipulation, can rapidly transmit instability throughout the ecosystem.
