Cross-Chain Risk Propagation

Propagation

Cross-chain risk propagation describes the phenomenon where a failure event on one blockchain network triggers adverse effects on other, interconnected networks. This occurs when assets are bridged between chains, creating dependencies where the value of a wrapped asset on one chain relies on the integrity of the underlying asset on another. A significant exploit or liquidity crisis on the source chain can directly devalue the bridged assets, propagating the risk across the ecosystem.
