Validator Centralization Concerns

Architecture

Validator centralization concerns stem from the inherent design of many blockchain consensus mechanisms, particularly Proof-of-Stake (PoS) systems, where a limited number of entities control a disproportionate share of staked assets. This concentration introduces systemic risk, potentially enabling collusion or undue influence over network governance and transaction validation. The resulting architecture can compromise the decentralized ethos foundational to cryptocurrency, impacting the security and censorship resistance of the network, and increasing the potential for regulatory capture. Consequently, the network’s resilience to attacks and its ability to maintain neutrality are diminished.
