Stake Based Validation

Mechanism

Stake Based Validation is a consensus mechanism where network participants, known as validators, are chosen to create new blocks and validate transactions based on the amount of cryptocurrency they have “staked” or locked up as collateral. This mechanism incentivizes honest behavior, as validators risk losing their staked assets (slashing) if they act maliciously or fail to perform their duties. It is a core component of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains, underpinning their security and decentralization. This approach contrasts with Proof-of-Work.
