Rollup Models

Rollup

Rollups represent a Layer-2 scaling solution designed to enhance transaction throughput and reduce costs on blockchains, particularly Ethereum. They achieve this by aggregating numerous off-chain transactions into a single batch, which is then submitted to the main chain. This process significantly decreases the on-chain data footprint and associated gas fees, improving overall network efficiency. Different rollup architectures exist, each with unique trade-offs regarding security, data availability, and execution environment.
