Resource Allocation Attacks

Constraint

Resource allocation attacks manifest when a malicious actor exploits the finite computational or bandwidth limits of a blockchain network or trading engine to degrade service quality for legitimate participants. By flooding a protocol with high volumes of low-value transactions or complex, gas-intensive queries, the attacker forces the system to exhaust its available processing capacity. This strategic exhaustion prevents honest traders from executing time-sensitive orders, such as liquidations or delta hedging, often creating arbitrage windows that the attacker exploits.
