Reputation-Weighted Staking

Algorithm

Reputation-Weighted Staking represents a consensus mechanism refinement where a validator’s influence within a Proof-of-Stake system is not solely determined by the quantity of staked tokens, but also by a quantifiable reputation score. This score typically incorporates factors like uptime, successful block proposals, participation in governance, and adherence to network protocols, creating a dynamic weighting of staking power. Consequently, validators with demonstrably positive contributions receive increased rewards and influence, incentivizing responsible network participation and mitigating risks associated with purely capital-based dominance. The implementation of such a system aims to enhance network security and decentralization by reducing the potential for malicious actors with substantial capital to disproportionately control the consensus process.
