Rebase Algorithm Design

Adjustment

Rebase algorithms within cryptocurrency protocols represent a dynamic modification of the total circulating supply, often triggered by price fluctuations relative to a target value. This mechanism aims to maintain price stability, particularly in algorithmic stablecoins, by incentivizing or disincentivizing holding based on market conditions. The adjustment process involves either increasing or decreasing the supply held in individual wallets, proportionally, influencing demand and, consequently, the asset’s price. Effective implementation requires careful calibration of the rebase parameters to avoid destabilizing feedback loops or unintended consequences for long-term holders.
