Re-Staking

Context

Re-staking, within cryptocurrency, options trading, and financial derivatives, represents a layered approach to yield generation and risk management. It builds upon the initial staking process, where users lock up cryptocurrency to support a blockchain network and earn rewards. Subsequently, these staked assets, or the resulting yield-bearing tokens, are then restaked, often within different protocols or strategies, to amplify returns and diversify exposure. This practice is increasingly prevalent in liquid staking derivatives (LSDs) and decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems.
