Layer-Two Rollup Finality

Finality

This denotes the point at which a state transition batch, posted by a Layer-Two rollup to the base chain, is considered cryptographically or economically irreversible. For Optimistic Rollups, this is typically after the challenge window expires, while ZK-Rollups achieve near-instantaneous finality upon block confirmation. The time to finality directly correlates with counterparty risk.
