JTAG Interface Security

Architecture

Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) interfaces represent a critical hardware-level vulnerability point for cryptographic modules securing digital assets and derivatives. By providing direct access to the boundary-scan chain, these ports permit unauthorized reading of sensitive memory contents or the manipulation of firmware execution flow. Sophisticated threat actors utilize this vector to bypass logical software protections, effectively extracting private keys or altering derivative contract parameters on local hardware wallets and institutional signing devices.
