Hybrid DEX Models

Architecture

Hybrid DEX models represent a convergence of centralized and decentralized exchange functionalities, aiming to mitigate the limitations inherent in each individual approach. These systems typically employ an order book managed off-chain, facilitating rapid trade execution and enhanced liquidity, while settlement and custody remain on-chain, leveraging blockchain security. This architectural design seeks to balance the speed and efficiency of centralized exchanges with the transparency and non-custodial nature of decentralized platforms, often utilizing layer-2 scaling solutions to reduce transaction costs. Consequently, the architecture allows for more complex order types and market-making strategies than purely on-chain DEXs.
