Cross Chain Atomic Failure

Definition

Cross-chain atomic failure refers to a situation where a multi-step transaction involving assets or data across two or more distinct blockchain networks does not complete successfully on all chains, leading to an inconsistent state. This failure violates the atomicity principle, where either all components of a transaction succeed, or none do. Such an event can result in lost funds, locked assets, or incorrect state synchronization. It presents a critical challenge for interoperability.
