Covered Put
A covered put is a strategy where an investor sells a put option while maintaining a short position in the underlying asset. It is essentially the inverse of a covered call strategy.
The short seller uses the potential proceeds from the short sale to cover the requirement of the put. This strategy is used to generate income while waiting for a stock to drop further.
It is a more advanced directional trade.
