ZK-GPUs

Architecture

ZK-GPUs represent a nascent hardware paradigm integrating zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) computation directly into graphics processing units, shifting cryptographic workloads from CPU-centric processing. This architectural shift aims to substantially reduce the computational overhead associated with ZKP generation and verification, critical for scaling layer-2 solutions in cryptocurrency networks. The design focuses on accelerating polynomial evaluations and finite field arithmetic, core operations within ZKP circuits, thereby enabling more efficient privacy-preserving transactions and computations. Consequently, ZK-GPUs are positioned to unlock new applications in confidential DeFi and secure multi-party computation, demanding substantial improvements in throughput and energy efficiency.
