Validator Delegation

Delegation

The concept of validator delegation, prevalent in proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain networks, fundamentally involves the assignment of staking rights from token holders to validators responsible for block production and network consensus. This mechanism allows users who may lack the technical expertise or resources to operate a validator node to participate in securing the network and earning rewards. Effectively, token holders entrust their stake to validators, granting them the authority to act on their behalf in the consensus process, thereby increasing the validator’s influence and potential rewards. The delegated stake contributes to the validator’s overall power, influencing their chances of being selected to propose or attest to new blocks.
