Validator Cartel

Validator

A validator cartel represents a coordinated group of entities within a blockchain network, typically a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) system, that collude to exert undue influence over the network’s consensus mechanism. This arrangement often involves a significant portion of the staked tokens, granting the cartel disproportionate power in block production, transaction ordering, and governance decisions. Such concentrated control can undermine the principles of decentralization and censorship resistance that underpin many cryptocurrencies, potentially leading to biased outcomes and reduced network security.
