Shard Level Attacks

Architecture

Shard level attacks target the specific structural sub-segments of a sharded blockchain network to compromise data integrity or availability. By concentrating malicious resources on a single isolated partition, an adversary attempts to bypass the security guarantees provided by the global consensus mechanism. These localized strikes exploit the reduced validator set size inherent in sharding designs, effectively lowering the cost required to achieve a adversarial majority within an individual shard.
