RWA Collateral

Asset

Real World Assets (RWAs) brought onto blockchain networks represent a tokenized form of ownership for tangible or intangible assets existing outside of the digital ecosystem, expanding the scope of decentralized finance. These assets, ranging from commodities and real estate to debt instruments and intellectual property, function as collateral within cryptocurrency lending protocols and derivatives markets, offering a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized systems. The integration of RWAs aims to enhance capital efficiency and provide novel investment opportunities, while simultaneously increasing the stability of crypto-based financial products through diversification. Consequently, RWA collateralization introduces a layer of regulatory scrutiny and custodial requirements not typically associated with native crypto assets.
