Restaking Security Model

Architecture

Restaking security models represent a novel consensus mechanism within blockchain networks, enabling the reuse of staked assets—typically ETH—across multiple validation services. This differs from traditional proof-of-stake systems where staked assets secure a single chain, enhancing capital efficiency and network security through increased economic skin in the game. The model’s architecture relies on a modular design, allowing validators to simultaneously secure multiple layers, including data availability layers and rollups, thereby diversifying risk and maximizing returns. Consequently, this layered approach introduces complexities in slashing conditions and fault attribution, requiring sophisticated risk management protocols.
