Restaking Protocol

Architecture

Restaking protocols represent a novel layer within the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism, enabling secure and decentralized reuse of staked assets. These systems allow validators to restake their existing staked ETH, or other PoS tokens, to secure additional modules or services within a broader ecosystem, enhancing capital efficiency. This architectural innovation introduces a modular security paradigm, where a single stake can simultaneously contribute to multiple security layers, increasing network resilience. Consequently, the design facilitates a more dynamic allocation of capital, potentially optimizing returns for validators and reducing the overall cost of security for emerging applications.
