Rational Malice

Concept

Rational malice describes the behavior of an actor within a decentralized financial system who, while technically following protocol rules, exploits loopholes or design flaws for personal gain, even if it harms other participants or the system’s reputation. This behavior is not overtly malicious in the sense of a hack, but rather an economically rational exploitation of incentives. It operates within the bounds of what is permitted, but not necessarily intended.
