PoS Protocol Design

Architecture

Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocol design fundamentally redefines consensus mechanisms within cryptocurrency networks, shifting from computational power to stake ownership. The architecture involves selecting validators based on the quantity and duration of tokens they hold and are willing to “stake” as collateral. This design inherently promotes network stability and discourages malicious behavior, as validators risk losing their stake if they attempt to validate fraudulent transactions. Consequently, the structural integrity of a PoS system relies on robust incentive structures and sophisticated slashing mechanisms to maintain network integrity.
