Option Contract Components

Element

Option contract components refer to the fundamental parameters that define a derivative agreement, granting the holder the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an underlying asset. These elements include the underlying asset itself, which could be a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or Ethereum; the strike price, specifying the price at which the asset can be traded; and the expiration date, marking the contract’s termination. Each component is critical for the contract’s valuation and functionality. The distinction between a call option and a put option is also a core element.
