Non-Custodial

Definition

Non-custodial describes a system or service where users retain direct control over their private keys and, consequently, their digital assets, rather than entrusting them to a third party. In this model, the user is solely responsible for the security and management of their funds. This fundamental principle underpins many decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. It eliminates counterparty risk associated with centralized exchanges. The user maintains absolute ownership.
