Non-Custodial Wallet
A non-custodial wallet is a digital wallet where the user has sole control over their private keys and, consequently, their assets. Unlike custodial services provided by exchanges or banks, a non-custodial wallet does not rely on a third party to manage or secure the funds.
The user is entirely responsible for the security of their seed phrase and the management of their cryptographic keys. This model is essential for achieving the ethos of financial sovereignty in the digital asset space.
If a user loses their private keys, there is no central authority that can recover the funds, making the user the single point of failure. This high level of control is necessary for interacting with decentralized finance protocols and performing trustless transactions.
It ensures that the user is the only one capable of authorizing movements of their capital. The use of such wallets is a prerequisite for participating in the broader ecosystem of decentralized derivatives and secure asset management.
