Malicious Validator Control

Mechanism

Malicious Validator Control refers to a specific operational state where a network participant, entrusted with block production or attestation duties, intentionally subverts consensus protocols to achieve personal gain. Such behavior often manifests as selective transaction exclusion, double-signing attempts, or the deliberate introduction of latency to benefit from front-running opportunities in crypto derivatives markets. By manipulating the sequencing of incoming orders, an adversary can effectively influence settlement prices or extract maximal extractable value at the expense of general liquidity providers.
