Lattice Models

Model

Lattice models, within the context of cryptocurrency derivatives and options trading, represent a framework for pricing and risk management that leverages a discrete representation of asset price paths. Unlike traditional continuous-time models, these models discretize time and price into a lattice structure, allowing for the simulation of numerous potential future scenarios. This approach facilitates the valuation of complex derivatives, particularly those with path-dependent features, by enabling a binomial or trinomial tree to approximate the underlying asset’s stochastic behavior. Consequently, lattice models offer a flexible and computationally tractable alternative to more complex analytical solutions.
