Hashed Time-Lock Security

Security

Hashed Time-Lock Security (HTLS) provides a robust mechanism for secure, trustless atomic swaps and conditional payments across different blockchain networks. This cryptographic primitive ensures that funds are only released if a specific secret, corresponding to a hash, is revealed within a predetermined time window. The security relies on the computational difficulty of reversing cryptographic hash functions. It prevents either party from unilaterally absconding with funds.
