Gas Limits

Constraint

This parameter sets the absolute upper bound on the computational resources, measured in gas units, that a single transaction can consume on a proof-of-work or proof-of-stake network. Setting this limit directly constrains the complexity of on-chain operations, such as calculating the payoff for an exotic option or executing a multi-step liquidation. Insufficient allocation results in transaction failure, while excessive limits can lead to network congestion. Prudent traders must calibrate their trade size and complexity against prevailing network capacity.
