DID Standards

Identity

DID standards, or Decentralized Identifier standards, represent a new paradigm for digital identity management where individuals control their personal data without reliance on centralized authorities. These standards enable the creation of unique, verifiable identifiers that are linked to a user’s wallet address or other digital credentials. Unlike traditional identity systems, DID standards allow users to selectively disclose specific pieces of information, enhancing privacy while still meeting verification requirements. This approach shifts control of identity data from institutions back to the individual user.
