Blockchain Pruning Limitations

Architecture

Blockchain pruning limitations emerge from the fundamental design choice to discard historical transaction data to conserve storage space for full nodes. While this mechanism facilitates network synchronization by reducing the disk footprint, it compromises the ability of a node to independently verify the entire provenance of assets. Quantitative analysts must recognize that such architectural trade-offs inherently shift reliance toward trust-minimized archival nodes, which increases centralizing pressures within the ecosystem.
