Block Height Dependency

Block

Within the context of cryptocurrency, a block represents a batch of transactions cryptographically bundled and added to the blockchain. Each block contains a hash of the previous block, creating a chronological chain. The block height signifies the numerical position of a specific block within this chain, starting from the genesis block (block 0). Consequently, block height dependency arises when the validity or execution of subsequent operations, particularly in derivatives or smart contracts, is contingent upon reaching a specific block height.
