## VWAP

VWAP, or Volume-Weighted Average Price, is a trading benchmark that calculates the average price of an asset over a specific period, weighted by the trading volume. It is widely used by institutional investors to assess whether they have achieved a good execution price relative to the market average.

By comparing their trade price to the VWAP, traders can determine if they were able to buy or sell effectively. VWAP is also used as a tool for algorithmic execution, where the goal is to execute a large order such that the average fill price is as close to the VWAP as possible.

It helps in minimizing market impact by ensuring that trading activity is distributed proportionally to the market's natural volume profile. It is a critical metric for evaluating trading performance and efficiency.
