## Volume Profile

Volume Profile is a technical analysis tool that displays trading activity at specific price levels over a specified period, rather than over time. By plotting volume horizontally on the y-axis, it reveals the price levels where the most significant amount of trading occurred, known as the Point of Control.

This provides insight into where institutional participants have placed their interest and where value is perceived to be. High-volume areas act as strong support or resistance because they represent zones of high agreement between buyers and sellers.

Conversely, low-volume areas, often called low-volume nodes, are regions where price may move quickly because there is little trading interest. Traders use Volume Profile to identify potential reversal zones and to understand the structural distribution of liquidity.

It helps in determining the fair value of an asset based on where the majority of market participants have transacted. This method is superior to traditional time-based volume for understanding market structure and price discovery.
