## Validator Rewards

Validator rewards are the economic incentives provided to participants who operate validator nodes and maintain the security of the network. These rewards are typically paid in the protocol's native token and are derived from transaction fees and newly minted tokens.

The distribution of these rewards is designed to compensate validators for the cost of hardware, electricity, and the risk of locking capital. By making the cost of running a node profitable, the protocol encourages a healthy number of participants to secure the ledger.

However, if rewards are too low, the network may suffer from insufficient security; if too high, it may lead to inflationary pressure on the token. Balancing these rewards is a central task in tokenomics design.
