## Staking

Staking is the act of locking up cryptocurrency tokens to support the security and operation of a blockchain network. In return for this service, participants receive rewards, typically in the form of newly minted tokens or transaction fees.

Staking is the economic foundation of Proof of Stake consensus, where the amount of tokens staked determines the validator's influence and responsibility. For users, it is a way to earn yield on their assets while contributing to the decentralization of the network.
