Staking Derivative Tokens

Staking Derivative Tokens are synthetic assets issued to users who have staked their native tokens in a protocol. These derivatives represent the underlying staked capital and the right to earn rewards, while also providing liquidity.

Instead of having tokens locked in a contract, users can trade or use their derivatives in other decentralized finance applications. This solves the problem of capital inefficiency in proof-of-stake networks.

However, it also introduces new risks, such as the potential for de-pegging or the systemic risk of the underlying staking protocol failing. These tokens are a vital component of the broader DeFi ecosystem, enabling users to maintain their exposure to the network while still participating in yield-generating activities.
