Relayer Infrastructure
Relayer infrastructure consists of the off-chain servers or decentralized networks that aggregate signed messages from users and submit them to the blockchain for execution. In the context of gasless voting, these relayers perform the critical task of paying the gas fees on behalf of the user, effectively abstracting the complexity of transaction management away from the end participant.
This infrastructure must be carefully designed to be censorship-resistant and reliable to ensure that all valid votes are processed and recorded correctly. If a relayer fails or is compromised, it could prevent users from voting or even manipulate the results by selectively submitting votes.
Many protocols are moving toward decentralized relayer networks to ensure that no single entity has control over the submission process. This is a vital component of the user experience, as it allows for seamless interaction with complex financial protocols.
