Proxy Implementation Address

The proxy implementation address is a specific storage location that points to the current logic contract being executed by the proxy. This address is what the proxy uses to delegate calls during transactions.

Changing this address effectively updates the protocol to a new version of the logic contract. Because this is the most critical piece of data in an upgradeable system, it is usually protected by strict access controls.

If an attacker can change this address, they can replace the protocol's logic with their own. EIP-1967 provides a standardized way to store this address, making it easier for users and auditors to verify the current implementation.
