Multisignature Wallets

Multisignature, or multisig, wallets are a security configuration where a transaction requires the approval of multiple private keys before it can be executed. This setup significantly reduces the risk of single-point-of-failure, as an attacker would need to compromise several independent keys to gain access to the funds.

It is widely used by organizations and serious investors to manage large amounts of capital and to ensure that no single individual can unilaterally move assets. Multisig protocols can be customized with various threshold requirements, such as requiring two out of three or three out of five signatures.

This provides a balance between security and operational convenience. It is a cornerstone of institutional-grade custody and a best practice for long-term wealth protection.
