Multisig Vulnerability

Multisig vulnerability refers to the risks associated with using multi-signature wallets to control critical protocol functions. While multisigs provide a layer of security by requiring multiple parties to approve transactions, they are not immune to threats.

If the private keys of the signers are compromised through phishing, device theft, or coercion, the security of the multisig is invalidated. Additionally, if the signers are concentrated within a single organization or geography, the multisig can become a single point of failure or a target for regulatory pressure.

Over-reliance on multisigs can also undermine the decentralized nature of a protocol if the community has no oversight into how these keys are managed. Effective multisig security requires geographically distributed signers, hardware wallet usage, and strict operational procedures.
