Multisig Administration

Multisig administration refers to the use of multi-signature wallets to manage the administrative functions of a protocol, such as upgrading contracts or adjusting risk parameters. A multisig wallet requires multiple private keys to authorize a transaction, significantly reducing the risk of a single point of failure or an insider attack.

This is a standard practice in DeFi to protect sensitive protocol functions. However, the security of a multisig depends on the distribution of keys among trusted parties.

If the signers are too few or collude, the multisig becomes a centralized control point, reintroducing the risks it was designed to mitigate. Balancing security and decentralization is key.
