## Momentum Effect

The momentum effect is a market anomaly that describes the tendency for stocks that have performed well in the past to continue performing well in the future, and for stocks that have performed poorly to continue performing poorly. This effect suggests that investors may be able to generate abnormal returns by buying recent winners and selling recent losers.

However, the momentum effect is not always reliable and can be subject to reversals. It's often used in conjunction with other investment strategies.
